Overview
We know through experience that teens with cancer talking to other teens who've been through it can offer huge benefits and assist healing.
Our National Teen Network helps you get in touch with a teen survivor who has experienced a similar type of cancer. So many teens have told us that they have benefited from connecting with others who are experiencing, or who have experienced, cancer particularly the same or similar type. As one of our teens told us: "Just talking with Sarah who had gone through the same treatments that I was going through was like seeing a light at the end of a very long tunnel." These young people have much in common and can be an inspiration and support to each other in so many ways. Whether it's a phone call or an e-mail or a visit, it can make a big difference.
Parents can benefit, too, from speaking to another teen (and their parents) that has come through similar treatments. It can and should be an important part of the healing process.
We maintain a network of teen "ambassadors" across Canada, so send us an e-mail and we'll help you connect!
