When I was 14 years old I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was treated with chemotherapy and went into remission shortly before my 15th birthday. I relapsed 9 months later and was treated with more aggressive chemotherapy, radiation and a stem cell transplant. This difficult experience has since fueled a greater interest in the sciences and in learning more about my particular disease. I see myself either becoming a specialized doctor in medicine or a professor of sciences. I have learned so much from my own experience and I believe it would be incredibly rewarding to be able to help others going through the same thing I went through.
