About us
Childhood Cancer Canada is a national, volunteer governed, charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families. We will achieve our mission through undertaking and supporting national initiatives resulting in the increased survival and well being of our children, and ultimately a cure for all childhood cancers.
We are a national organization dedicated entirely to the fight against childhood cancer. We achieve our goal of improving the lives of children with cancer and their families through a variety of programs and services:
The funding and promotion of childhood cancer research: |
We now have in place a unique partnership with all of Canada's 17 childhood cancer hospitals and treatment centres.Through this alliance we can ensure that only the very best and most promising research proposals are funded.
Support and resource programs for children with cancer and their families: |
We administer many support programs, including the emPower Pack , Scholarship Program and Benevolent Fund and several programs that provide information and resources to families at critical stages in their cancer journey.
Issues advocacy: |
The Foundation plays a leadership role in advocating for progressive social and healthcare policies in support of childhood cancer.
The Foundation Staff are honoured to be members of the following organizations participating in national committees:
- PEAC - Pediatric Expert Advisory Committee
- NLC - National Liaison Committee, Canadian Blood Services
- CCAN - Canadian Cancer Action Network
Childhood Cancer Canada Canada operates from one office in Toronto but maintains close ties to all parent and survivor support groups (PSSGs) throughout the country.
