Ian M. Young

Ian is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Ian retired early from a career in finance, working in the manufacturing, distribution and financial industries.

His most recent position was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nexfor Inc., a public Canadian forest products company, from the start of 1992 until retirement in mid-2002. He was responsible for all financial activities, assisted the President and CEO and three Senior Vice Presidents to run the company, and had extensive involvement with the Board of Directors and various Board Committees.

He also served on the Board of Directors of a Canadian Schedule II Bank for more than ten years, the Boards of many partly and wholly-owned subsidiary companies, and was Chairman of the financial section of the Canadian Forest Products Industry for several years.

Ian is a University of Western Ontario graduate and has memberships with the Ontario and Canadian Chartered Accountants Associations and the Financial Executives Institute.

He enjoys an active lifestyle, a passion for cycling, fishing and fitness in general, as well as being an avid sports fan.

Ian holds directorships with BT Bank of Canada, ICI Canada Inc., Various Nexfor and ICI holding, subsidiary and affiliated companies.
