John B. Sandusky, C.A.
John received his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1966. After graduation, he served as controller of Consumer's Glass. In 1970, he joined Armstrong Homes as Controller and later Vice President and General Manager.
In 1975, John founded Sandbury Building Corporation, a leading Ontario builder. For 24 years he served as President and majority shareholder.
In 1999, he sold his business to Monarch Corporation and served as Senior Vice President of the High Rise Division. Since his retirement in April, 2005, John has continued his association with Monarch, on a part-time basis, as Director of Business Development.
During his 35 year career in the building industry, John has devoted significant time to housing industry associations, serving as President of the Oshawa , Toronto and Canadian Home Builders' Associations. His contribution to housing in Canada was recognized by being named Builder of the Year in 1982, and by induction into the Hall of Fame of the Canadian Home Builders' Association in 1996.
Throughout his career, John has been active in many volunteer positions. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Manulife Bank of Canada and First North American Life Insurance Company, as well as the Chair of the Property Committee of Wycliffe College.
In his leisure time, John enjoys playing tennis, cross-country skiing and discovering the delights of being a grandfather.
