Special Events: A Gala Evening
For the adults, the most spectacular gala event begins with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6pm on Saturday, August 19, 2000. Following dinner, the newest, coolest band from Vancouver, Soul Decision, will perform live capturing the heart of every adult and child in the audience. A great DJ will also ensure that there are no quiet moments. A silent auction throughout the evening will provide great opportunities to bid on an array of exciting items. The auction will close at 10pm.
Families who wish to bring their children to the dinner are welcome to do so, but there is a charge of $35 for each child. Babysitting is available. There is no charge for this service, but infants and toddlers must be pre-registered. For the children and teens, an evening of barbeques and movies will begin at 6pm Saturday, August 18, 2000. Entertainment will be provided for children 4-7 years, 7-12 years and teens 13
and older. The cost for the entire evening is $10.

Interfaith Service
An Interfaith Service will be held Sunday morning. The well-known composer, Nancy Gibbons, of Joy in the Morning from Mississauga, ON, has written special music for the service. It is hoped that as many parents and children as possible will attend this inspirational and inter-denominational service. It will be a time for reflection and inspiration.

Chaplain on Site
This year, in response to requests from registrants of previous years, a chaplain will be on site throughout the conference for parents and children. The Reverend Carol Langley, an Anglican priest experienced with children and families, will be available.

Exhibits
The Exhibit Hall will host over twenty exhibits and posters. The displays will be of interest to parents, children, professionals and volunteers. The exhibits and posters will be open throughout the conference beginning with the first nutrition break Friday morning.
