**UPDATE**: We are pleased to announce that
the Key to the Cure Event held at Vivo raised over $10,000!! Big thanks go out to all the
volunteers and all our sponsors who gave so generously. We also would like to thank the
entertainment of the evening - Melodious
Vibes - an incredible jazz group who donated their time to play for
the almost 300 in attendance!!

Overview
The
Key to the Cure is a fundraiser to supplement the Coast to Coast Against Cancer,
a national bike ride which saw six dedicated men from Ontario cycling
non-stop for ten days (7200 km) in order to raise money for the Childhood
Cancer Foundation. This
event, which took place in June, came up $20,000 short of its goal of
$500,000. The Key to the
Cure hopes to raise the additional funds for kids with cancer.
Event Details
Our title sponsor is
Masterlock Canada - hence the name Key to the Cure. Every guest will receive a key
(additional keys can be purchased) and throughout the room will be ten
locked boxes only TEN keys will work. If your key works you win some amazing prizes. Examples are Lululemon gift certificates,
DVDs, CDS, hotel certificates, restaurant gift certificates, toys from
the wonderful SPINMASTER and much more.
Besides
prizes there will also be a silent auction (bigger items), raffles
(smaller items) a live Jazz band, two DJs spinning acid jazzy music,
dessert donated by the wonderful GELATO FRESCO, appetizers and the video
premiere of the Coast to Coast bike ride documentary.
